Creating on the Potter’s Wheel for Beginners (10 weeks)
with Tiffany Hilton

Tiffany HiltonEnjoy using the potter's wheel! Focus will be on functional pottery using high-fire stoneware and glazes. Students will learn throwing skills that cover the three basic forms: bowls, cups and plates. There will be time to develop form, technique, and experience glazing and firing your work. The instructor will give individual attention and demonstrations during each class. Ages 16+.
Students will have additional access to the studio Monday through Friday and Saturdays 9-12

Thursdays, March 24 - May 26, 2011
5:15-7:15 pm: Beginner Wheel

Fees: $295 ($245 tuition + $50 materials fee) per 10 week class for adults and teens.

Tiffany Hilton - Ceramics, B.S. Fine Arts/Art History, State University of New York, New Paltz; Master of Library Science, Long Island University. Ceramic teaching experience includes, Snow Farm, Amherst Community Arts Center, various workshops and private lessons over the past 12 years. Tiffany has established her own pottery business since 2005 and enjoys sharing her passion for clay with others in the classroom.


Intermediate Wheel Throwing (10 weeks)
with Tiffany Hilton

Tiffany HiltonThis class is for those already comfortable with centering clay and who are interested in taking their basic skills to the next level. Practice and improve throwing bowls, cups, or plates and learn to make lidded forms, improve your handles, or alter thrown shapes by combining hand-building techniques. Students will be using high-fire stoneware and glazes. Instruction on glazing and firing your work will also go beyond the basics. The instructor will give individual attention and demonstrations during each class and students can focus on their individual goals or follow along with each class demonstration. Ages 16+.
Students will have additional access to the studio Monday through Friday and Saturdays 9-12
